Zurich was a bit of a mandatory stop since it provided the only way to fly back into London. We were pretty delirious at this point (week four) of our trip, so my memories of Zurich are slightly blurry, but definitely fond. Our twenty-four hours there delivered lots of walking, incredible food, and doubled-over laughter in a public park. We also watched like two solid hours of some TLC-esque wedding show that was completely in German and completely lacking subtitles. Still so interesting! We loved you, fair Switzerland. You were a perfect ending to our European adventure.

We truly saved the best for last on our European itinerary. After a very long day of train travel we arrived in Lucerne, Switzerland, which might just be the greatest place on Earth. Honestly, wandering the pristine cobblestone streets and pastel medieval buildings seemed a little too good to be real. The highlight of our stay in this quaint city was a boat ride down Lake Lucerne that provided the most spectacular views of the snowcapped mountains and glacier-melt waters, which introduced me to a shade of deep blue I didn't know existed. I may have left my heart in Switzerland.
