Scrapbook | Independence Day 2014

Summer is officially over, so naturally it's time to post photos from early July. Oh, well. There's something deeply wonderful about ruminating on the warm memories of the last few months as we salute summer goodbye this Labor Day week. As C.S. Lewis said, "A pleasure is full grown only when it is remembered." Ah, he always makes me feel better. The Wolf family is (in)famous for sitting around and recounting the highlights of an experience immediately after it has happened. So here are my highlights (not so immediately) from our Independence Day trip to Lexington, Kentucky, where all TWELVE Wolves celebrated together. It was kind of perfect, filled with wildflower picking, soybean field traversing, frisbee throwing, cupcake eating, firework gazing, book reading, and conversation making. Also, if you can't tell, there are three kiddos who have the rest of us wrapped quite tightly around their chubby little fingers.

Scrapbook | Lexington, Kentucky

The Wolf sisters pulled off a spontaneous reunion in late June during a quick trip up to Lexington, Kentucky. My oldest sister Sarah just moved into the loveliest new house, so Mary and I had to check it out for ourselves. Warning: gratuitous amounts of nibling photos ahead...
