Last Friday was the perfect spring day to do a little exploring around Surrey, so some friends and I headed over to Shere. Shere is a teeny little village most noted as a popular filming location for movies like The Holiday (!!!), Bridget Jones' Diary, and The Wedding Date. There's not one big, spectacular site to see in Shere; it's simply the quintessential sleepy English village. Most of the homes and shops date back to the 1500s and the mossy garden walls are spilling over with pink and purple blossoms. We browsed local boutiques, wandered around the village church, and ate a heavenly meal at the Dabbling Duck. Thank you, Shere, for a perfectly English afternoon. Anyone up to watch The Holiday now?
